Library of Things
This collection is for all the items that do not fit into a standard library collection. These include hand tools, baking pans, yard games, and other assorted items. Because this is such a unique collection, it has its own unique rules and procedures for the use of these items.
To get started, the easy to use binders are located on the 2nd floor by the collection, at the 2nd floor Reference Desk, and also 1st floor Circulation Desk.
How do I check items out from the Library of Things?
Because this is such a unique collection, it has its own unique format! In order to check something out, you will peruse the contents of this binder, let the Library Staff Member know what item(s) you would like to check out, and they will get the item for you and check it out on your Library account.
***Please note that if you are have recently signed up for a Library Card from the Oskaloosa Public Library, you might be ineligable to check out items from this collection for the first 3 months of obtaining a card.***
How do I return items from the Library of Things?
Items from the Library of Things need to be returned TO THE 1ST FLOOR CIRCULATION DESK. They CAN NOT be returned using the outside or inside book drops, they MUST be brought to the desk.
How many items can I have checked out at a time?
You may have up to three items from the Library of Things at a time.
How long can I check things out for?
Items from the Library of Things check out for 3 weeks.
What is the fine if I return them late?
The fine on items from the Library of Things is $1.00 per day.
Can I renew items from the Library of Things?
Yes! Items from the Library of Things can be renewed once.
